Medical massage

Medical massage is a professional manual therapy for treating and managing a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Through targeted manual techniques, the treatment can help reduce pain and muscle tension, improve mobility and support the recovery of normal body function. As a medical massage therapist with a federal professional diploma, I adapt the treatment to the individual characteristics of the person, the condition, the symptoms and the therapeutic goals.

Medical massage treatment

How it works

The treatment begins with an assessment of the patient’s situation and needs. Based on what emerges, specific massage and tissue mobilization techniques are selected and applied.

Depending on the therapeutic goal, different techniques may be used, including:

  • Classical and therapeutic massage
  • Relaxation and muscle release techniques
  • Deep muscle work
  • Specific techniques for muscle tension and stiffness
  • Soft tissue treatment
  • Complementary techniques integrated into the treatment plan

What to expect

Medical massage does not have to be painful to be effective.

Depending on the condition and the technique used, you may feel:

  • Pressure in the treated areas
  • Localized muscle tension
  • Temporary discomfort in particularly tight or sensitive areas

The intensity is adjusted to the situation and your individual tolerance.

Benefits

It can help to:

  • Reduce muscle tension and stiffness
  • Relieve some painful musculoskeletal conditions
  • Improve tissue mobility
  • Support the recovery of muscle function
  • Promote muscle relaxation
  • Support recovery after physical activity, overload or injuries

Indications

  • Muscle tension and contractures
  • Neck pain
  • Back stiffness and pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Shoulder muscle problems
  • Muscle overload
  • Sports-related conditions
  • Functional recovery after trauma or injuries

Professional approach

The treatment is adapted to the characteristics of the person, the condition and how the tissues respond. When indicated, it can be combined with tecar therapy, ultrasound therapy, electrotherapy and shockwave therapy.

The goal is to use each technique when it can be genuinely useful, avoiding standardized protocols.
